LEI Applications Deadline Approaching - December 2017
Increasing numbers of legal entities are required to obtain and renew annually a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) - a 20 digit alpha numeric code that enables clear and unique identification of legal entities participating in financial transactions. LEIs are needed by entities to fulfil their reporting obligations under certain financial regulations and directives. Under the EU's revised Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, or MiFID II, from 3 January 2018 any entity trading with a European counterparty will require an LEI. No trade will be allowed without one.

Please note that with the approaching deadline of 3 January, issuers of LEIs are experiencing a high volume of requests, and there are consequent delays in the issuance of LEIs.
